I don't know about this online dating thing. I can't justify paying money for the privilege of emailing someone. I’ve looked at (and have profiles on) Match.com, Singlesnet, and Chemistry.com. A friend got me interested in a site called OkCupid; I'll end up using it more than any of the others because it’s totally free. I might try sneaking my blog address into my profiles on the other sites, maybe then if someone wanted to contact me, I wouldn’t have to pay a monthly fee just to chat with someone.
Offline, I feel like I’ve made great progress meeting new people. I want to a party with lots of people I didn’t know. At first I was a bit uncomfortable, but after a while, I just got up and joined someone dancing. I danced with a few ladies, and I also chatted up some new people.

the social scene is pretty tough... i really have no idea how i'd meet new people if i didn't drink. a party with a bunch of people i don't know (or even people i do know for that matter) is pretty much hell if i haven't at least greased the wheels a little bit.
